It's mid-February, which can only mean that we all have one thing on our minds:
Only six weeks until we can focus full-time on basketball schedule leaks!
Even though not all of us have checked out on this season (thanks a lot, Niners) I was relentless at filling out my collection of contracts FOIA request after FOIA request. As a result The D1 Docket will be ready for viewing earlier and with more information at launch than ever before. Given that for most programs actual basketball is still being played and dominating the news cycle I will keep tidying up The Docket through March, but look out for a big dump of information the morning after the National Championship game.
However, last year I was caught flat-footed by perennial schedule early bird West Virginia dropping their non-conference schedule on March 4th, leading to a three and a half month wait for schedule number two. After a quick scan for when 2022 contracts were signed I scheduled a request to maximize my return.
So far, the Mountaineers have 9 games on the books, with the date for the Backyard Brawl yet to be finalized. Opening night is still open for West Virginia, and the early December gap is ripe for a Big East-Big XII Battle game.
